Simon Montgomery earned the honor of becoming a member of the Chivalry in the Autumn of 2016. I had the happy task of making his vigil book. I was asked to incorporate skulls somehow, and so I used them as decorative bosses! This book is bound with the Ethiopian coptic stitch. Many binders don’t like this stitch, but I love it, and find it is great for vigil books as it allows them to lay flat without weights and makes the book more inviting for people to inscribe their words. Red linen over oak boards, 80# weight paper.
