Salad Bars

Would it really be all that difficult for food establishments that have a salad bar to indicate on their various spoons and ladles the measurement of said implement? For example, the ladles for salad dressings - 2Tbsp; the scoops for veggies - 1/2C.
I don't think so. Metadata for real life - what a novel idea!

Real-life Metadata (like Fight Club?)
Dan Keldsen (not verified) — Mon, 06/30/2008 - 17:28Christine - good point. Usability applies to "the real world" as well as to the virtual world. Should we be happy when they label the salad dressing AT ALL (ranch dressing or creamy italian? I don't know - YOU smell it!)? :)
If only we had the overlay from Fight Club, we could see the hidden metadata embedded in products (or left by previous people). Ah, and an off switch for that sight - else we go blind from another form of information overload.
We'll be talking about metadata in our forthcoming Market IQ on Findability, but not quite to this extreme.
Cheers,
Dan

Seriously, that's a great thought - I've wondered that as I passed by the salad bar. We (consumers) are so tied into measuring the weight of the total salad to determine price...it would be brilliant to measure the servings as well...
